fish market at Red Sea

the port outside of Al Hodeidah at the Red Sea, where the fishermen bring their daily catch, starting between 6 and 7 o'clock in the morning.

the boats are very colourful and usually also include the colours of the Yemeni flag: red, white, black (from top to bottom). on 22 may 1990, the north and the south of the country were re-united and the current flag was adopted, composed of 3 stripes with the panarabian colours. the red signifies the revolution, the white the purety and confidence in the future, and the black the period during which the country had been divided into 2 antagonistic nations.
